Operations/Departmental Manager (Level 5)


As an operations/departmental manager you will manage teams and/or projects, and achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. You will be accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and specialist managers.

  • Pre-requisites

    • Typically, applicants will have achieved 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade c or above. If not already achieved, then a level 2 in English and Maths will be required prior to end point assessment

  • Qualification

    • Added Value: An ILM Level 5 Diploma for Leaders and Managers is included with this programme

  • End Point Assessment (EPA)

    • Knowledge test using scenarios, competency-based interview, assessment of portfolio of evidence, presentation of work based project approach and findings with Q&A, professional discussion relating to CPD activity
