Lead accident investigation IOSH


An IOSH approved qualification ideal for anyone conducting investigations into personal injury or accidents in the workplace. You will be able to analyse accidents, incidents, near misses, equipment failures and operating issues confidently and competently. You will learn how to uncover root causes and compile reports.

Topics you will cover include:

  • Understand the moral, legal and financial reasons for reporting and investigating accidents in the workplace
  • Know the law with regard to managing safely, RIDDOR, employers and employees duties and responsibilities
  • An introduction to behaviour science to understand human factors
  • Recognise best practice in the accident investigation process
  • Competent to work safely and efficiently at an accident site
  • Conduct relevant and sensitive witness interviews and collecting material evidence from a variety of relevant sources
  • Analyse evidence to develop a no-blame report
  • Produce a report containing relevant recommendations to influence positive change
