Managing Safely IOSH

Description

The IOSH Managing Safely course is an internationally recognised qualification for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. It will bring you up to speed on the practical actions you need to take to handle health and safety in your workplace and with your team. Managing Safely won’t turn you into health and safety experts, but it will give you the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues that you are responsible for.

Topics you will cover include:

  • Introduction and overview to managing safely in the workplace
  • Know how to complete risk assessments
  • Understand risk control and know its implications
  • Know health and safety legislation and your responsibilities
  • Recognise common hazards and how to mitigate them
  • Know the importance of investigating accidents and incidents
  • Know how to measure health and safety performance
  • Understand the importance of environmental protection

  • Assessment

    • Assessment will be on day four and will be based on the learning outcomes from the course. The format is typical of IOSH courses, a mixture of multiple choice and short bullet point answers. The project is to complete a risk assessment on a work area/activity
