Assertiveness and Confidence Building


Become part of a community based learning group and join our Webinars during the Covid-19 crisis. It's important to keep our minds active and not feel alone, while we're self isolating or home working.


Assertiveness is the quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive and we sometimes struggle to find the right balance. It is a learnable skill and this one day course focuses on understanding why we find it a challenge and how to overcome the barriers.

Typical topics you will cover include:

  • Recognise and list key personal skills and strengths
  • Define and give examples of assertiveness
  • Know the link between assertiveness, confidence and self esteem
  • Know how to handle challenging situations
  • Develop techniques to communicate assertively and say “No”
  • Complete a personal strategy to increase your assertiveness, self-esteem and confidence
