Let’s express ourselves through words!
Whether we are amateur or professional writers, let’s pick up our pen or keyboard and let our imagination flow to promote writing as a form of creative expression.
My favourite poet is Charles Baudelaire, a French poet, known for his poems, Les Fleurs du Mal (The Flowers of Evil). Baudelaire once said: ‘The poet enjoys the incomparable privilege of being able to be himself and others, as he wishes.’’ I think he captured the essence of writing.
Writing offers creative freedom. Writing allows us to explore our emotions, thoughts and even our experiences. Just imagine pouring our feelings onto a page and sharing them with others. Our words may resonate with the readers.
Writing is a journey of our self-discovery. We can use writing to articulate our thoughts and boost our confidence. I am convinced that as we write, we learn more about ourselves.
There are endless ways to celebrate this day.
We can:
In terms of writing ideas, oh, there are so many! We can revisit our favourite book or film and change the ending. We can write about a personal milestone we reached. We can even write about our last supernatural encounter!
National Writing Day is to explore the joy of writing and express ourselves. It can be via a novel, a poem, a personal essay or a short story. The act of writing is an enriching experience. Just let our imagination flow without limits.
Happy National Writing Day!
