Diversity, Wellbeing & Environment Calendar

February might be the shortest month of the year, but it’s one that can feel especially heavy for many of us.

We begin the month with Time to Talk Day — a gentle reminder that conversations matter and that reaching out to a family member, friend or trusted colleague can make all the difference when we’re navigating difficult thoughts or emotions. One topic that often sits quietly in the background is eating disorders. Many people may not fully understand them, while others may be living with the reality every day.

That’s why Eating Disorder Awareness Week (23 February to 1 March) is so important. This year’s theme, “Community,” shines a light on the power of coming together — to learn, to support and to share our experiences. It feels like the perfect continuation of the message behind Time to Talk Day. You can find out more information at Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026 – Community

February also marks LGBT+ History Month. The theme for 2026 is ‘Science & Innovation,’ which was unveiled at a special ceremony back in November at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London. It’ll be focusing on recognising LGBTQ+ figures in science and innovation, whose work has had a significant influence on global technological advancements, healthcare developments, and solutions to environmental challenges such as climate change and clean energy.

Looking ahead, February also brings one of RHG’s favourite annual events: National Apprenticeship Week, running 9–15 February.

We’re excited to open up the world of apprenticeships to a wider audience — sharing insights from our alumni, hearing from employers and answering questions around funding, onboarding and the full learning journey.

We’d love to see you at our free Open Day at The Harborough Innovation Centre. You can secure your place using the link below or scanning the QR code:
