MAY
The big event during this month is of course the Coronation of King Charles III with an extra Bank Holiday, making not one , or two BUT three long Bank Holiday weekends this month.
Did you know King Charles I was beheaded by Oliver Cromwell and his son, exiled to France, only returning for the Restoration of the Monarchy and becoming King Charles II?
Let’s hope the reign of King Charles III is much more peaceful.

Finally, a few more May facts and dates:
May flower | Lily-of-the-valley and hawthorn are the May birth flowers. Lily-of-the-valley bloom in May and represent sweetness, motherhood and humility. Hawthorns are part of the rose family and broadly symbolize hope, faith, and happiness. |
May Gemstone | Emerald. As the birthstone for May, the emerald, a symbol of rebirth, is believed to grant the owner foresight, good fortune, and youth. Emerald, derived from the word “smaragdus,” means, quite literally, “green” in Greek. |
Star sign | Taurus April 20 – May 20 Taurus is the second of the 12 astrological signs and is represented by the bull constellation. Of the four zodiac elements (air, earth, fire, and water), Taurus is an earth sign. Taureans, like the bull that represents them, are known to be intelligent, dependable, hardworking, dedicated, and stubborn. |
Star sign | Gemini May 21 – June 20 An Air sign, the main Gemini traits are being super-fast, super-smart, super-adaptable and super-curious. All of this super-ness makes them fascinating to be around, albeit usually only for short spells because they can a) wear you out, b) get easily distracted elsewhere and before you know it, they’re off. |
